What does this mean? Simply, the Property Development Group of Eastside Community Church
BACKGROUND
In late 2001 The Building Project Group of our church (previously called Majestic Park Baptist) was well into the process of collecting design requirements for the expansion of the Waverley Road Church Building. The decision had been made by the members to go ahead and extend, rather than to keep on with the long and unrewarding search for suitable property for development of larger facilities. By June 2002, the building Development Application (DA) was about to be submitted to the Brisbane City Council Planning Department, when a parcel of land at Mt. Gravatt East was brought to our attention.
An Inspection was made, a report provided to the church membership with the recommendation to buy and develop. This was overwhelmingly supported and investigations commenced. The submission of the DA for Waverley Road property was cancelled.
In order to adequately manage this new development, the building Project Group recommended the setting up of a much larger group of teams, each with an appointed Team Leader to handle the many new tasks now needing completion.
Recommendations to set up this new Property Development Group were accepted by the membership, and it commenced to function in July 2002.
PURPOSE
The PDG was commissioned as a church service group to handle all church matters involving land purchase, and providing buildings & facilities for all ministries.
STRUCTURE
The PDG comprises a collllective of all Team Leaders with a co-ordinating Elder as Chairman.

Any Team which concluded it’s specific task became inactive and remained thus until it was required for a new project. When the project at Mt. Gravatt East concluded, various teams moved into inactivity, and a new Team -- PROPERTY SEARCH was established.
CURRENT POSITION
The PDG Teams currently functioning are:

Additional teams will be activated as appropriate tasks require managing.
- Team Leaders meet together as necessary, and are in constant touch by email and other communication.
- The PDG Coordinator and each Team Leader values your prayer support.
- Each Team Leader is available to discuss their PDG area of responsibility with you.
