Beyond our fundamental principles and statements of belief, what are the key values of the Eastside Community Church? What do people talk about? What are they passionate about? What do people appreciate from our church? What values identify Eastside as a distinct body of believers? Our marrow, our character, our culture, our heart.
We value family. We believe that strong families underpin the life and vitality of our church. We want to support the families within our church and to help bring the children of our fellowship up into a living, vibrant faith.
We value vital and contemporary worship. We want to be a church that acknowledges and gives glory to God. Through excellence in music, prayer, testimonies and other creative means we want to joyfully bring Him praise.
We value community. We want to be a friendly church that welcomes visitors; that supports those in need; that nourishes those who need to grow; and that reaches out to the community through meaningful and relevant programs.
We value evangelism. We believe that it is vital to spread the Good News to the community around us – our friends, neighbours and colleagues. We want to be a growing church that sees the unchurched coming to Christ.
We value fellowship. We want to serve and support one another – to minister to body, soul and spirit. Our home groups provide a network of person-to-person support through prayer, Bible study and fellowship.
We value God’s guidance and leading. We want to seek God’s will through Scripture and prayer. We value a permission giving culture that supports and empowers each member to use their ministry giftings in response to God’s leading. |
