Verse of the Day
  • Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

This area is separated into Sound, Multimedia and the future ministry of lighting.
Sound is used already every Sunday. This area of ministry is an extremely important one because if the sound isn’t good, not all the work from other areas of the creative arts will be portrayed in the best way they can. Sound operators need to be chosen carefully and train extensively to help them in there gifted ministry.  Here are some thoughts about this area.
  • To have a sound system that complemented the abilities and qualities of the bands, singers and preachers and sound technicians to competently run such a system
  • Regular training – how to mix, listening techniques, how to set a sound system from scratch etc
  • Need a continuous training program - in-house or outside, for existing operators and trainees.  These trainees should involve youth.  The benefit of training youth would be for youth bands and evening services.
  • It would also be good to find some sort of measure on suitable volume for a normal worship service
  • building a safe and secure place to house this equipment when not in use
  • Limiting access to sound equipment during prayer times and other times when sound person is not at the desk
Multimedia specifically refers to anything that is presented on the data projector. At present, we use multimedia on a weekly basis in the way of the songs on the data projector. We have also for Insights services used videos of movie clips to convey aspects of the message and used video for our end of year carols program. I see the future for multimedia to be almost endless. People are comfortable watching TV and Movies, so using these within services is an obvious progression. In the future I see multimedia being used in these ways.
  • Developing slide backgrounds for song words – images that are relevant to the words
  • Preparing slide presentations for sermons.
  • Organise video clips for services.
  • Video services would be great for record keeping or sending to people who cannot make it to services.
Lighting is not something that we currently have the facilities for, but is an area of ministry that we will need to identify and develop in the near future, particularly when the new building is being used.
